A 30-year sentence for a Slidell man who pleaded guilty last week to sexually molesting a 4-year-old girl while he was babysitting her in February prompted the prosecutor, in an unusual move, to ask the judge to reconsider the severity of his punishment. Assistant District Attorney Blair Alford filed a motion Thursday asking 22nd Judicial District Court Judge Reginald Badeaux to reconsider the sentence, according to Lisa Page, spokeswoman for District Attorney Warren Montgomery. The motion cites victim-impact statements made by the mother and grandmother of the young girl before William Harvey Watson, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery on a victim under 13, 27 counts of producing pornography involving juveniles under 13 and 250 counts of possession of pornography. A medical exam showed that the girl had abrasions on her labia. Williams admitted that he had touched the girl's vagina and taken pictures of it. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office found 473 images and 10 videos of child pornography on Williams' laptop, including images of an 8-month-old girl whom the defendant had posed for what the motion termed "sexually explicit" photos. The Sheriff's Office report also revealed that the defendant had served time for raping an 18-month-old girl. "This defendant preys on the most innocent and vulnerable members of our society," the motion said, adding that the 8-month old child will be victimized every time a pedophile views her image. "She can't even walk or talk yet, but she is a victim for life because of him." Williams admitted to police that he had sexual urges for children and had
