BEST OF BEST HOLLYWOOD VINE Race 2, No 2 Robert Smerdon-trained first starter who has been runner-up in a couple of Cranbourne trials. Looks nicely suited in what isn’t a strong field for its Adelaide debut and looks hard to beat. EMBECEE LIL Race 8, No 6 Promising mare who is building an impressive record. She’s been racing in peak form and should get a perfect trip from barrier two. The Balfour stable is flying and expect her to continue their hot run. THE EYE-CATCHER PRETTY PUNK Race 4, No 3 Smart mare who resumed a couple of weeks ago and made good ground in a strong race behind Chamois Road. She’s effective over further but has won over 1400m and no surprise to see her run a big race at nice odds. THE TRAINER GORDON RICHARDS CHAPEL CITY (Race 3) I thought he was good last week and he’s done well since. This looks a winnable race and he’s got a lot less weight on his back with Victor Wong on board. ROSELLI STING (Race 4) He didn’t have a whole lot of luck last week but that seems to be the story of his life. I think he’s better suited dropping back to 1400m here. BEAU RIVAGE (Race 5) He’s racing better. I thought he battled on well last week. We’re stretching him out over more distance to give him a chance to see how he handles it. He’s fit and healthy. ENKI (Race 8) Both his runs this time in have been good. He looked the winner last week but probably died on his run a bit. I’m pretty happy with him. LETTSY LIKES SUDDEN WEALTH Race 3, No 4 I tipped her first-up and I reckon she can make it two-from-two here. She couldn’t have been more impressive last time and she looks primed for a big campaign. THE QUADDIE First leg — 1, 2, 4, 7 Second leg — 1, 6, 8, 9 Third leg — 1, 2, 5, 6 Fourth leg — 3, 6
